Pueraria mirifica is a leguminous kudzu vine plant that grows in the woodlands of northern Myanmar and Thailand. Locals there have also referred to it as "gaukurua"--meaning vine plants--, and have long used it as a traditional beauty-promoting medicine. In the 1920s, an old letter was discovered in a temple in Myanmar that also made mention of the high effectiveness of pueraria mirifica. Further scientific research has been done since then and has led to the discovery that pueraria mirifica produces very similar effects as female hormones.
